Do not enter floodwater
The NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) NOT TO ENTER FLOODWATER due to current on-going flooding:
- Crescent Head and surrounds
- Including Crescent Head Holiday Park
- And Crescent Head Country Club
You should monitor the situation as it is constantly changing. Avoid floodwater for your safety.
What are we expecting?
Crescent Head continues to be isolated due to impacts from floodwater.
Resupply may be requested by people in isolated towns and properties who cannot source essential food and medications. We ask you to be patient, remain in a safe location and please not be tempted to drive through flood waters or go sightseeing.
If you are isolated in need of urgent resupply for items such as food and medication or transport to medical appointments, please follow the below information to request resupply:
1. Call NSW SES on 132 500 for a resupply request. The operator will give you a reference number to use for resupply orders.
2. Once you have the NSW SES reference number, contact your local outlet and place your order and pay directly.
3. Provide the NSW SES with you order number and NSW SES will contact the outlet to arrange pickup and delivery of the order, which may be from boat, high clearance vehicle or helicopter.
4. Arrange to be onsite at the nominated time and designated unloading point to pick up goods once transported by NSW SES.
5. Ordering, supply and delivery of prescription medication will be at the discretion or direction of the supplier.
This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.
What you need to do:
- If you have a Home or Business Emergency Plan, follow it. Otherwise, have a conversation and plan for what you will do and take with you if you need to evacuate.
- Consider the consequences of road and bridge closures and water over roads and make alternate arrangements for work, children, and travel.
- Plan your route carefully to avoid flooded roads and allow extra travel time.
- Obey all signs about road closures and instructions from emergency services.
- Avoid storm drains and pipes, ditches, ravines and rivers.
- Never drive, walk, ride through, play or swim in floodwater - it is dangerous, toxic, and may void your car insurance. If it's flooded, forget it. Fines apply.
- Share this information with family, friends, and neighbours and help others prepare where possible.
- If you are isolated and require resupply, contact NSW SES on 132 500
