Watch and Act

The NSW SES advises people to AVOID THE FOLLOWING AREAS due to current falling major flooding:

  • All properties on Gumma Road, Figtree Road, Barnetts Road, Boultons Crossing Road, Wallably Drive, Waterford Drive, Robert Hughes Road and Warrell Waters Road.

You should monitor the situation and avoid the area until further advised. There may be damaged infrastructure and dangerous hazards within the area.


What are we expecting?

An emergency warning to Move to Higher Ground was first issued at 8:22 pm on 21st may 2025. It has been updated based on flood predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology.

If you are located in the warning area, NSW SES advises that you avoid the area.

Do not enter floodwater.

The Nambucca River at Macksville - Princess Street peaked at 3.17 metres around 08:00 pm Thursday and is currently at 2.78 metres and falling, with major flooding.

This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.


What you need to do:

  • Plan your route carefully to avoid flooded roads and allow extra travel time.
  • Obey all signs about road closures and instructions from emergency services.
  • Avoid storm drains and pipes, ditches, ravines and rivers.
  • Never drive, walk, ride through, play or swim in floodwater - it is dangerous, toxic, and may void your car insurance. If it's flooded, forget it. Fines apply.
  • Share this information with family, friends, and neighbours and help others prepare where possible.
